Dog Friendly Areas
Dog Friendly Areas are designated sections within Chicago parks or beaches, where dogs are allowed to run and play off-leash, the only areas in the city where this is allowed. To be able to visit one of these areas, a permit is needed for each dog. Village Veterinary Practice participates in issuing these permits on behalf of the Chicago Park District. The cost of a permit is $10 per dog. Any patron using a DFA without a permit is subject to a $500 fine.
International Pet Travel
If you are planning to travel internationally with your pet(s), there are generally specific animal health requirements that need to be met before an animal can enter the destination country. The United States Department of Agriculture Pet Travel website can help you determine the export requirements that need to be met for your pet.
The loss of a beloved pet is the hardest part of being a pet owner. We work closely with Hinsdale Pet Memorial Services to provide the after-life care your pet deserves. From a final resting place in the peaceful animal cemetery to cremation services and beautiful urns, you can choose to memorialize your pet in a number of ways.
Wings pet loss support group meets once a month in Burr Ridge. If you need to talk after losing a pet, this support group can help. No reservations are required and there is no charge to attend. Donations are gladly accepted.
