Darec graduated from the University of Illinois with a major in agricultural economics, dual concentration in farm management and agribusiness, and a minor in animal science. He is currently taking additional classes to complete the pre-requisites needed to enter vet school. Before Darec joined our team in 2016, he worked on a thoroughbred farm in Kentucky. He loves all things equine, but ultimately wants to be a mixed animal veterinarian.
When Darec is not working or attending classes he can be found working out and following sports. He also enjoyes storm chasing now and then.
Amanda joined our veterinary assistant team in 2016 after graduating from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in psychology. She enjoys cooking, hiking and photography. She also appreciates spending time with friends, family and her ball python, Monte!
Fun Fact: Amanda actually became part of the VVP family in 2012 when she began working as a kennel assistant for the practice during her senior year of high school. We are excited to have back as a veterinary assistant until she leaves us again for vet school.
