The heartbreaking devastation that Hurricane Harvey has left behind is overwhelmingly upsetting and our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims who have been impacted by this storm. We are grateful to all the heroes on the ground who have provided immediate help to those in desperate need, and to all the individuals and organizations across the country working together to donate whatever they can to relief efforts.
As part of the veterinary community, Village Veterinary Practice has directed our donations of support towards the animals who have fallen victim in this catastrophe and the people dedicated to helping them. The American Veterinary Medical Association estimates that more than one million animals have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Animal hospitals and shelters are working tirelessly to help the influx of cold, injured, tired, and hungry animals that were lost or left behind.
The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation Disaster Relief Fund supports veterinarians who are caring for animals that have been displaced or injured by Hurricane Harvey. 100% of all donations go directly to helping animals in need. To donate, please visit www.texvetpets.org/giving
The American Veterinary Medical Association also has a foundation for Disaster Relief funds which assist veterinarians who are providing services and shelter in the impacted areas. Now that it’s evident the destruction goes beyond Texas, this foundation will also help those affected in other affected areas. Visit AVMF.org/Donate and use the code “Disaster Relief” to designate your donation for reimbursement grants, which assist veterinarians who are providing services and shelter in the impacted areas.
Though the effects of this catastrophe are long from over, any little bit of help we can provide will go a long way to support the ones who have lost so much.
